This vital concept allows for automatic Radio Frequency (RF) probes to be placed at any point and on any equipment throughout the premises and requires a simple set up via a Saveris base unit and software which is complemented by a converter for linking to the Ethernet. As you can imagine this offers unlimited and versatile scope and the responsible Scientist within the High Throughput department Mark Auty, is delighted to set the scene. “We had previously relied on limited data logging systems but having realised the need for something better, we carried out a thorough worldwide search for the optimum solution and the Testo remedy was quickly apparent. The probes can be placed on to a wall or perched on the unit itself and give us constant read-out backed by alarm systems. These are necessary for activities running overnight or during a weekend, and we also have the means to interrogate data going back many months if need be. I particularly like the fast that they are very neat and discreet and just quietly blend in to their surroundings. For the technical record the actual products supplied by Testo to Unilever consist of a GDS3 base unit which communicates to the measurement probes via Ethernet connection and can save 40000 readings per channel independent of the PC; , a converter for changing a probe signal in to an Ethernet signal; three TD3 two - channel radio probes and six HD3 humidity radio probes all incorporating display screens and long life batteries.
